Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react after Calciomercato revealed that Brentford striker Ivan Toney is of interest to the Toffees.

The 24-year-old has been in stupendous form for the Bees since completing a £5 million move from Peterborough over the summer.

Toney currently sits second in the Championship’s scoring charts, having netted an impressive 13 goals in just 15 appearances.

Additionally, the former Newcastle striker has two assists, so on average, he’s been involved in a goal every game this season.

The Northampton-born hitman is already halfway towards matching his tally of 26 goals from last season – his consistency, and ability to adapt to a higher level, will surely impress Carlo Ancelotti.

As Transfermarkt shows, Toney has played 1,278 minutes in the Championship this season, which means he has found the net once every 98 minutes on average.

Ancelotti could do with some backup to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, having loaned Moise Kean and Theo Walcott to Paris Saint-Germain and Southampton respectively.

Only Cenk Tosun can provide backup to the in-form England international at Goodison Park right now.
