Tim Sherwood has stated that Arsenal should get Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ‘off the wage bill’, as he told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports (11/12/21 at 2:05 pm).

On Saturday, Mikel Arteta dropped the bombshell that Aubameyang has been dropped from Arsenal’s matchday squad that faced Southampton for ‘disciplinary reasons’, as he told Sky Sports.

Given that Aubameyang is the captain of the club, it’s not a good look for the player and the message he is sending out to the rest of his teammates.

This isn’t the first time Aubameyang has been dropped in such a manner by Arteta because it happened before the North London derby last season as well.

The writing is probably on the wall the 32-year-old and another sign that his career at the Premier League giants is coming to an end.

Former title-winning midfielder Sherwood made it clear that Arteta just needs to get rid of the player and ‘sling’ him into an Uber.

“Obviously, there is something wrong with the kid,” said Sherwood. “His attitude is no good.

“We are talking about a move. They would drive him anywhere, wouldn’t they? Let’s get the Uber’s outside, point the direction and sling him in it.

“Get him off the wage bill. Get a clean slate, as long as they can go and buy someone.”

Without Aubameyang’s services, Arsenal secured a comfortable 3-0 win against the Saints on home soil yesterday.

Of course, all the talk after the game was about Aubameyang and what this ‘ban’ from Arteta entails.

It remains to be seen whether he will be back in action next week because the games are coming thick and fast with the festive period underway.

Added with that, the obvious headlines are going to be written come January and the Gabon star possibly leaving.
