Arsenal fans feel that they should be going for Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand, after Mikel Arteta’s comments at his latest press conference.
Arteta told Football London that Arsenal would be going for a left-back this summer on Thursday, following the departure of Sead Kolasinac.
And Bertrand is the player who many Arsenal fans think could be their ideal addition.
At the moment Arsenal’s only natural option on the left hand side of their defence is Kieran Tierney.
The Gunners do have Bukayo Saka and Ainsley Maitland Niles, but neither of the pair are totally comfortable in defence, and both prefer playing further forward.
Bertrand, therefore, could make a good option and there are hints that a transfer wouldn’t be impossible.
Goal have suggested that the £10 million England international (Standard) could leave Southampton, with a Champions League club chasing club after him.
Whether that is Arsenal is not yet clear, but he would add further Premier League experience to the Gunners ranks.

Bertrand has been a regular at Southampton over numerous seasons, and also won the Champions League with Chelsea in his earlier career.
If he was to move to Arsenal it seems most likely he would be given a back-up role, as Tierney is one of the very best left-sided defenders in the league.
But with Bertrand’s contract running down, and Arsenal in the market for a new full-back, he does seem like a realistic option for Arteta and Edu to chase.
Arsenal have been busy in the transfer market in recent days, with Mat Ryan joining and Martin Odegaard being set to sign soon (Football London).
