Steve Nicol has told Liverpool to go out and bring Erling Haaland to Anfield.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Borussia Dortmund sensation who, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, would be interested in a switch to Merseyside.
Haaland, who stands at 6’4, is one of the most exciting young players in world football right now.
The 20-year-old has 31 goals and eight assists from 29 games across all competitions for the Bundesliga giants this season.
Asked by ESPN if he’d suit Klopp’s system, Nicol laughed and said: “Listen Haaland can go play in anyone’s system. Absolutely no danger. Who cares what system – he can play it. Get him in your team.”
It goes without saying that Liverpool fans would absolutely love to sign the big Norwegian superstar during the summer transfer window.
But it isn’t going to happen.
There’s a real possibility of Liverpool dropping out of the Champions League next term, with Jurgen Klopp’s side sitting eighth in the Premier League table at the moment.
And Champions League football is worth a lot of money to the Reds and therefore, bank-breaking moves such as this might be a little hard to finance.
