Manchester United’s Luke Shaw has hinted at an interest in joining Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino again.

Luke Shaw of Manchester United looks on during the Carabao Cup Third Round match between Manchester United and Burton Albion at Old Trafford on September 20, 2017 in Manchester, England.

Manchester United beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, with Anthony Martial grabbing a late winner for the Red Devils as Jose Mourinho picked up a win over Mauricio Pochettino.

The result came just days after one United player suggested that he would actually be open to leaving Mourinho’s men in order to reunite with Spurs boss Pochettino one day.

As quoted by Sky Sports, United left back Luke Shaw admitted that he hopes to play under Pochettino again, and even believes that the Spurs boss wants to work with him again in the future.

Shaw noted that Pochettino regularly called him his ‘son’, and whilst he has endured ups and downs during his career, he feels that he was only ever on a positive curve under Pochettino’s guidance.

It was Pochettino who developed Shaw into one of English football’s top young left backs at Southampton, handing him 35 Premier League appearances over the course of the 2013-14 season before he earned a place in the England World Cup squad and a move to Manchester United.

Whilst many backed Shaw for stardom, his time at Old Trafford has been frustrating to say the least, as he has struggled with injuries and seemingly hasn’t done enough to earn the trust of manager Mourinho.

With Shaw now suggesting that he would like to work with Pochettino again, Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the possibility of him joining Tottenham in the near future – with a part-exchange deal for Danny Rose suggested.

Many want Spurs to claim a huge fee as well as Shaw for Rose, believing that Pochettino could help him rediscover his best form after nearly four difficult years with United.

Others aren’t quite so convinced that Shaw would improve the Spurs squad, believing he would be lucky to make the bench, but the poplar opinion is that a Pochettino and Shaw reunion could be beneficial for all.
