Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media are getting rather excited after The Telegraph reported that they want to sign Jordan Pickford from Everton.
It’s not hard to understand why Spurs fans are excited about the prospect of Pickford coming in. The Toffees’ stopper has proven himself in the Premier League for a number of years now, and he’s also England’s number one.
Tottenham have needed a new goalie for a little while now. Hugo Lloris is still brilliant, but at the age of 34, his career is entering its twilight years.
Pickford, at 27, has a number of years ahead of him and there’s even reason to believe he could improve further as he matures.
Apparently, Antonio Conte is the man who wants Pickford in north London, and with the Italian’s magnificent track record, it’s hard to question any of the decisions he makes.
