In Tottenham Hotspur news, Jamie O’Hara has implored Antonio Conte to remove the cotton wool from Djed Spence and begin using him regularly.
The North Londoners spent some £19 million [ESPN] this past summer on signing Spence from Middlesbrough.
That being said, he has only managed one senior appearance for Spurs across all competitions – and even that was for a matter of seconds back in August.
For whatever reason, the 22-year-old defender isn’t high on Conte’s list of priorities right now.
But with Emerson Royal suspended for the moment, O’Hara, who ripped into the Brazilian defender in the same interview, would love to see the English right-back finally utilised by the Italian manager.

He told talkSPORT: “Djed Spence, what did we pay for him, £15m? Get him in the team.”
Tottenham Hotspur news
Clearly Conte isn’t a major fan of Spence at Spurs just yet.
Then again, it’s still very early days.
He has only been on Tottenham’s books for a number of months and competing with much more experienced players, like Emerson and Matt Doherty.
The Irishman replaced the suspended Emerson in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Brighton and, honestly, played pretty well.
So with that in mind, it’s very unlikely that we’re going to see Spence anytime soon.
Even when Emerson returns from suspension, he will displace Doherty immediately and the former Boro youngster will continue as Conte’s third-choice option for that position unfortunately.
