Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has dominated Scotland on the domestic front in recent seasons.
Gerry Armstong has claimed that Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has the ability to manage in Spain one day as he stated that his ‘technical’ coaching would be ‘appreciated’ by those in the country.
During his career, Rodgers has managed in England’s top-flight, and he is now doing the same in Scotland where he has dominated since his arrival in 2016.
The Bhoys have won the double treble in recent campaigns and they are on course to once again dominate on a domestic front and lift every trophy possible in Scotland.
Nonetheless, former Northern Ireland player Armstrong explained why his fellow countryman has the ability to take his coaching to the sunnier climates of Spain.
“He is a very astute coach and has done very well in his career,” said Rodgers, as quoted by HeraldScotland. “But he is very technical when it comes to coaching and that is the sort of thing they appreciate in Spain.
“There is absolutely no reason why he couldn’t manage there. His background in English football will help him.”
In midweek, the Glasgow club were beaten 2-0 by La Liga outfit Valencia in the first leg of their Europa League encounter as they have a big ask to overturn the two-goal deficit when they travel to Spain for the return leg.
Nonetheless, at this moment in time, Rodgers will be preparing his side for their Scottish Premiership trip to Steve Clarke’s Kilmarnock on Sunday afternoon.
Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, who are sitting second in the Premiership table, were held to a goalless draw at home to St Johnstone on Saturday which provided their rivals with an opportunity to open up a lead at the top of the table.
At this moment in time, Celtic are five points clear at the top of the Premiership table and that can be a game-changing eight points by the end of the week.
