Rangers beat Hamilton 1-0 at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has told the club’s official YouTube channel that he felt his side should have put Hamilton Academical out of sight within five minutes on Sunday.
The Gers took on Hamilton at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon, and were looking to get back to winning ways having lost to Rapid Vienna in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Daniel Candeias put Rangers into an early lead against the Accies, but Rangers were left frustrated for the rest of the game as they couldn’t build on their 1-0 lead.
Rangers moved back to the top of the Scottish Premiership table with their win, having seen Old Firm rivals Celtic lose at Hibernian hours earlier.
Rangers were far, far superior against Hamilton but squandered a host of opportunities, with Kyle Lafferty unable to get himself back on the scoresheet.
The performance underlined Rangers’ need for a new striker in January to give Gerrard a boost in the final third, and the ex-Liverpool man was far from happy after the final whistle.

Gerrard suggested that Rangers should have had the game wrapped up inside five minutes, and pointed out some truly remarkable stats, as Rangers had 21 corners and put in around 30 crosses – but the stunning thing is that they couldn’t capitalise on them, as they had to settle for a 1-0 win.
“We should have won this game after five minutes today,” said Gerrard. “We should have been two or three nil up. We had 21 corners today. I’m guessing here but we had at least 30 crosses into the box, so we’re playing well up to a certain point,” he added.
