Ryan Kent has risked antagonising Rangers’ weekend opponents.

Rangers versus Celtic clashes are always intense.
This weekend’s build up is slightly less so, with Celtic already having won the league.
It’s a situation which plays into Rangers’ hands, with Celtic having less to fight for, and little to prove.
That is until Rangers winger Ryan Kent popped up and lit the pre-match fires.
He told The Scotsman that he believes Rangers have got into Celtic’s heads: “I think we’ve probably done that already when we beat them in the first game at Ibrox, the first league win over them since 2012. The style with which we went about it that day was important, too, because we totally dominated them for the whole game.”
He added of the latest fixture that Rangers were the ‘better team’ even with 10 men before going down to a 2-1 defeat.

Kent may only be speaking what he feels to be accurate, but making comments like this publicly don’t actually help Rangers’ cause.
It’s comments like these which can trigger Celtic from a post-title slumber, and get them pumped up for the fixture.
Manager Steven Gerrard has spoken of his desire for Rangers players to be disciplined off the field.
Kent is not breaking any club rules, he’s talking his team up, but he is also antagonising Rangers’ opponents and making Steven Gerrard’s job harder.
He needs to take control and advise his players not to make comments pre-game comments which will help motivate Rangers’ opponents.
