Jermain Defoe has joined Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers.

Defoe has joined Rangers on an 18-month loan deal from Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Morelos is the first-choice striker at Rangers at the moment, and the Colombia international has been in superb form for the Gers so far this season.
While many might think that Defoe has been signed to compete with Morelos for a spot in the starting lineup or even replace him in the team should he leave in the future, Rangers manager Gerrard has said that the two strikers can play together.
Gerrard told Sky Sports when asked if Defoe can play alongside Morelos: “Yes, 100 per cent. So can Defoe and Lafferty, so can Lafferty and Morelos.”

Scary for Celtic
Signing Defoe has given Rangers a massive boost in their quest to win the Scottish Premiership title this season, and Gerrard’s aforementioned comments will be scary for Celtic.
Defoe and Morelos play together upfront will make Rangers a massive force in attack, and the Gers could well win matches with ease and heap pressure on Celtic in the title race.
With Rangers giving Celtic a run for their money this season, the arrival of Defoe and his prospective partnership with Morelos could see the Gers end the Hoops’ dominance in the Scottish Premiership this season.
