Steven Gerrard has given updates on the futures of Rangers midfielders Greg Docherty and Ross McCrorie.
Both have been linked with moves away from Ibrox, with Gerrard confirming earlier this week that Hull are in talks with Docherty and that Hibernian have shown an interest in McCrorie.
And, speaking via Rangers’ official Youtube channel on Friday morning, the Gers boss revealed the balls are now in the courts of Docherty and Hibernian, with McCrorie having already made clear he wants to leave.
Asked how close the pair are to leaving, Gerrard replied: “I think that’s a tough question to answer. That’ll depend on numerous factors.
“Greg has permission to speak to Hull. I’m told them talks are ongoing.
“Greg’s in this morning so the plan is to catch up with him after this morning’s session.
“I know they are locked in talks, so there’s no real update on that situation.
“But that is as close as the talks have gone, (as far as I’m) aware of at the moment.
“But that could happen at any given moment or it mightn’t happen. It’ll boil down to what Greg’s decision is.

“In terms of Ross, we knocked something back from Hibs and I believe they have come again. So that’s moved a little bit closer.
“The plan again is to catch up with Ross this morning.
“He’s told me clearly that he wants to move on. But at the same time I think the ball is in Hibs’ court now to match what we want.”

Neither Docherty nor McCrorie, who spent parts of last season on loan to Hibernian and Portsmouth, respectively, have appeared in any of Rangers’ matchday squads this season, with Ryan Jack, Glen Kamara, Joe Aribo, Steven Davis and Scott Arield all ahead of them.
And Gerrard admitted earlier this week that he would still like to add another player in their position.
Rangers have been strongly linked with a move for the Amiens midfielder Bongani Zungu, although reports have cited personal terms and fitness issues as reasons why a deal has yet to happen.
