Gerrard made the comments following Rangers’ 2-1 win against Heart of Midlothian away from home at Tynecastle Park in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
Colombia international striker Morelos scored the winning goal for Rangers in the 41st minute.
Rangers manager Gerrard has praised the 22-year-old, but the Liverpool legend has also revealed that he has spoken to the young striker about not winding up opposition fans.
Gerrard told The Scottish Sun: “I think it was a great contest between the two centre backs and Alfredo.
“He was leaving things on them and they were leaving it on him but that is football. They got fouls, we got a few and I don’t see a problem with that.
“There were a few times when he tried to incite the crowd and we had a word with him about that because we don’t like that. He is trying to mature, but performance wise he was outstanding.”

Stats
Over the course of the 90 minutes at Tynecastle Park on Sunday afternoon, visitors Rangers had 55% of the possession, took 17 shots of which eight were on target, and earned 10 corners, according to BBC Sport.
The win against Hearts means that Rangers are now at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with 30 points from 14 matches, a point clear of second-placed and bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic, who have a game in hand.
