Celtic should take a look at signing Conor Hourihane this summer – and no, not only because the player has a hatred for Rangers.
The Republic of Ireland international has been released at Aston Villa under Steven Gerrard, after spending last season on loan at Sheffield United.
Back in 2017, Hourihane hinted of his affection for Celtic as a football club by revealing that he ‘hates’ their Old Firm rivals Rangers.
And as a Bosman, the 31-year-old might just fancy a stint at Parkhead.
Question is, does Ange Postecoglou need him and the answer is, well, quite possibly.

Last month, Postecoglou is quoted as telling The Record that he’ll be signing another midfielder this summer.
He said: “We still need to sign another midfielder but having signed the boys in January, it means they’re already bedded into our club. It gives us a head start.”
His disdain for Rangers would make him an instant hero in Glasgow but the truth is that Hourihane is a very talented footballer, too.
Remember, Celtic have just lost Nir Bitton and they’ll need an experienced replacement for the Isarael international.
Hourihane doesn’t boast experience in the Scottish Premiership, nor would he be a like-for-like successor to Bitton, but he does have 173 Championship appearances under his belt – and four goals in 31 Premier League outings, to boot.
Considering that he’s a free agent, a 33-time international and quite possibly a Bhoy, based on his previous comments about the Ibrox outfit, it’s a no-brainer and something Postecoglou should consider.
