For the first time in the Steven Gerrard era Aston Villa have entered a poor run of form.
Indeed, the Midlands club have looked rather sluggish in their last two games against Newcastle and Watford, and they’ve come away from two very winnable games without a single point.
The relegation zone is still very much at arms’ length, but a few more losses could once again see Villa end up right back in the mix.
Of course, Gerrard and his squad will be hoping for a return to form, but sadly for the Villans, their game this weekend isn’t an easy one.
Indeed, Brighton have played some fantastic football this season, and if Villa are to win here, the manager will have to get his team selection spot on.
With that in mind, we’ve had a go at predicting Gerrard’s starting XI for this one.
We think the gaffer will make just one change from the side that lost to Watford.
Calum Chambers makes way for the returning Ezri Konsa, and perhaps controversially, the rest of the team remains the same.
Villa’s last two performances were uninspiring, but, on paper, this is still arguably the best XI that Gerrard can put out.
Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings continue to provide the manager with his biggest selection headache, but we’re tipping Gerrard to stick with Ings here.
