The Ibrox chief is looking to guide his Rangers side through to the Europa League group stages.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard spoke to reporters ahead of his side’s Europa League play-off tie against Russian outfit FC Ufa at Ibrox tomorrow night, and delivered an injury update on three of his key players, as quoted by the Daily Star.
The Gers have begun their 2018/19 campaign in fine fashion under the stewardship of Gerrard, winning six and drawing four of their opening 10 games in all competitions thus far.
Arguably their most important game comes in the form of their clash with Ufa at Ibrox tomorrow night, however, and it will be a real concern for Rangers fans that some of their key men sustained injuries during their cup win over Kilmarnock on Sunday.
Gerrard addressed the media ahead of his side’s Europa League tie, and provided positive news, however, regarding two of his three currently crocked stars, as quoted by the Daily Star:

“Jamie is very low at the moment, he is down and upset and you can understand that. He is concerned that he is going to be out for long time. We will keep our fingers crossed and pray and hopefully he can get some good news when he is assessed and has a scan on it. They both took big knocks (Katic and Goldson) – Niko to the head and Connor took a bad dead leg. They don’t even look at you when I am asking them how they are; they are two tough tough boys.”
Having Goldson and Katic back and available for selection will be vitally important to Rangers’ hopes of securing their place in the Europa League group stages, and judging by Gerrard’s comments, there is every chance that the defensive duo will be part of tomorrow night’s game.
