Rangers picked up a superb 4-2 win over Aberdeen on Wednesday night.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has told Rangers TV that he felt Joe Worrall and Connor Goldson were colossal for the Gers against Aberdeen on Wednesday night.
After beating St Mirren on Saturday, Rangers faced a much sterner task as they travelled to Pittodrie to take on Aberdeen as third hosted second.
The Gers took the lead as Alfredo Morelos scored from close range, with Joe Lewis unable to hold a Ryan Kent shot, but Sam Cosgrove equalised for the Dons after Rangers failed to clear.
Rangers went back in front with a fine left-footed finish from Morelos, and James Tavernier scored from the penalty spot following a Scott McKenna handball to make it 3-1.
There was more drama to come in the second half, as Tavernier hauled down Lewis Ferguson for an Aberdeen penalty, which Cosgrove converted.
McKenna and Morelos were then both sent off for a strange altercation on the byline, and whilst Aberdeen attempted to push for a leveller, Jermain Defoe smashed in a fourth for Rangers to seal a 4-2 win.
Rangers remain on Celtic’s tail, and they saw defenders Joe Worrall and Connor Goldson impress at Pittodrie to keep the Dons at bay in the second half.

Worrall was public enemy number one two weeks ago when his mistake cost Rangers at Kilmarnock, whilst Goldson hadn’t even played in 2019 before yesterday’s game.
Now, Gerrard has praised both players, admitting that he wanted to give Worrall a ‘special mention’ and felt Goldson was a ‘mountain’ in a fine defensive showing.
“I think what happened to Joe Worrall a few weeks ago, the way he’s responded and come back has been top drawer,” said Gerrard. “I must give him a special mention tonight.”
“I can’t think of words for Connor. He’s had one session, or half a session because it was so light, and to come in having not played since Celtic and trained ever so little, he was a mountain for this club tonight,” he added.
