Rangers were linked with Young Boys striker Jean-Pierre Nsame last summer. Now, he could end up on the other side of Glasgow.

The Gers were in the market for a couple of strikers last summer, and Nsame was a hot name linked with a move to Ibrox.

Kick442 in Cameroon suggested that Rangers were willing to splash the cash for Nsame, and he had even spoken to Steven Gerrard about a move.

Gerrard did end up responding to the rumour, telling The Herald that Nsame was not on his radar at all, and Rangers ended up signing a different striker from the Swiss top flight in Cedric Itten from St Gallen.

Gerrard may have overlooked Nsame, but TEAMtalk now claim that Celtic are interested in signing him, meaning he could end up in Glasgow after all.

The Bhoys need to find a new striker whether Odsonne Edouard leaves or not, and 27-year-old Nsame has the record to prove that he can fire goals in Scotland.

Nsame has smashed 97 goals in 167 games for Young Boys, and after spending give seasons in Switzerland, it may now be time to move on.

Yes he turns 28 in May, but Nsame’s goal record in recent years as outstanding, and he could bring the firepower that Celtic desperately need moving forward.

Rangers may have said no, but Celtic have a golden chance to say yes – and possibly make the Gers pay for going with Itten instead.
