Gerrard confirms Rangers expecting to announce one in, one out; offers Kamara update

Rangers may still have some late business to do this month.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has told Rangers TV that he is expecting a deal for Matt Polster to be confirmed soon – as well as Jordan Rossiter’s loan exit.

The Gers got back to winning ways on Sunday by beating Livingston, and will now look to string together a run of form to challenge Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

Rangers have enjoyed a strong January in terms of signings, having landed Glen Kamara and Jordan Jones on pre-contract agreements as well as Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis on loan.

With just over 48 hours of the transfer window left to go, it seems unlikely that Rangers will have much to do in terms of incomings, but one player looks set to arrive.

Trialist Polster has been sorting out a work permit in recent days, having done enough to convince Gerrard to sign him on a free transfer from Chicago Fire.

Gerrard has now confirmed that a deal for Polster is set to be confirmed any time now, after the utility man travelled to France to get his work permit application signed off.

A report from The Express has suggested that Rangers have offered £50,000 to sign Kamara from Dundee now rather than in the summer, but Gerrard merely claimed that the midfielder will only arrive in the summer alongside Jones.

There should be one outgoing too, as Gerrard revealed that midfielder Rossiter is talking to a number of clubs about a loan move, and his temporary exit should come soon.

“I think that could be announced at any time,” said Gerrard. “He’s travelled to France to get the work permit application complete, so that will be announced maybe today, maybe tomorrow, but we’re confident that one will happen. Where we sit, we assume Glen and Jordan will join us next season.”

“Young Jordan Rossiter, there’s a good strong possibility that he could go out on loan. He’s speaking to a couple of different clubs and hopefully we can get him out for the boy’s sake to go and play and get regular games, he’s missed a lot of football. I’m hoping to find the right solution for Jordan to go and get more game time, so that could be announced in the coming days,” he added.
