Rangers take on Feyenoord in the Europa League at Ibrox this evening.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has told the Dutch media that he recommended Liverpool defender George Johnston to Feyenoord this summer.
The Gers open their Europa League group stage campaign tonight, hosting Feyenoord at Ibrox in a fascinating clash.
A host of players have featured for both teams, with Michael Mols, Bert Konterman and Giovanni van Bronckhorst able to say they’ve got a foot in both camps, whilst Gerrard taking on Feyenoord boss and ex-Manchester United defender Jaap Stam is interesting in itself.
Not only that, but Gerrard’s former Liverpool teammate Dirk Kuyt is currently at Feyenoord as a youth coach, continuing his long-standing relationship with the Rotterdam club.
It now seems that Gerrard and Kuyt still have a strong relationship, to the point where Gerrard actually recommended a signing to the Eredivisie side.
Gerrard has told De Telegraaf, as reported by Feyenoord fan site FR Fans, that he told Kuyt and Feyenoord to go and sign Liverpool defender George Johnston.

Feyenoord did end up signing the Scotland Under-21 defender for £500,000 (Daily Record), and will be looking to really kick on at De Kuip having failed to play for Jurgen Klopp’s first team.
Gerrard coached Johnston at Liverpool and would like to see him play against Rangers tonight, but that seems unlikely with no senior appearances to his name yet this season.
“I coached him in the Under-18’s and Under-19’s. He is a good guy,” said Gerrard. “I recommended him to my friend Dirk Kuyt at Feyenoord. I hope I see him against us,” he added.
