Arsenal could do with bolstering their midfield ranks at the end of the season.

And while the Gunners will likely compile a list of targets (if they haven’t already), they may well be open to suggestions.

Germany Under-20 talent Can Bozdogan has now spoken of his love of Arsenal and his desire to move to “a club like Arsenal”.

The Schalke 04 midfielder, currently on loan at FC Utrecht, told Sport BILD about his desire to play in the Premier League.

And in terms of who he’d like to play for, he spoke at length about Arsenal and how he fell in love with them after an Emirates Stadium tour.

“I would love to play in the Premier League,” Bozdogan said, as transcribed by Sport Witness. “That’s my goal.

“I think Arsenal are cool.

“As a child, I was in London with my family. During a city tour, we visited the stadium.

“I was in the dressing room and very fascinated. Since then, I’ve really liked this club.

“I hope to eventually end up at a club like Arsenal.”

Ambition

It’s great to hear Bozdogan sing the Gunners’ praises and suggest he dreams of playing for them.

He has been playing well at Utrecht, registering five assists and one goal from 18 Eredivisie outings.

Bozdogan also has one cap for Germany’s Under-20s to his name.

He has also appeared for all their age groups since the U15s, except the U19s.

The Dutch club has an option to buy Bozdogan – who is currently sidelined through injury – from Schalke.

If he continues to impress at Utrecht, there’s every chance he can go from strength to strength. And one day, he could end up at Arsenal.

At just 21 years of age, and described by Football Talent Scout as “the dream of every coach”, Bozdogan has his whole career ahead of him.
