Leeds United have reportedly reached an agreement with Werder Bremen’s Felix Wiedwald.

According to reports from German newspaper Kicker, Bundesliga club Werder Bremen have reached an agreement with Championship club Leeds United over the transfer of Felix Wiedwald.

It has been an eventful day for Bremen. Earlier in the day, the Bundesliga side have announced that they have agreed a deal to sign Slavia Prague goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka. The 25-year-old is expected to undergo a medical in Bremen and sign a contract later in the week.

After securing his signature, they organised a negotiation for Wiedwald, and there the agreement has been reached for Wiedwald this afternoon.

Earlier this week, German website Spox claimed that Leeds are one of the four Championship clubs vying for Wiedwald’s signature – the other three being Nottingham Forest, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Norwich City.

However, it seems Leeds have jumped ahead of others to secure the move, with the Yorkshire club reportedly paying £442k (€500k) to Bremen.

Wiedwald, 27, has been with Bremen since 2015, when he signed from Eintracht Frankfurt. He has one year remaining on his contract at Bremen.

The goalkeeper conceded 51 goals in 26 appearances for Bremen last season.
