German press explain why Grosskreutz to Liverpool is unlikely

Kevin Grosskreutz’s next move is expected to be in Germany.

Kevin Grosskreutz has been strongly tipped to make a return to his homeland, report German news outlet Gala.

Turkish newspaper Takvim claimed this week that Grosskreutz would clinch a deal to join former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

Grosskreutz however is not believed to be Anfield bound. German newspaper BILD report that Grosskreutz has bought a new family home in his native Germany, where he will even live next door to his mother, and young brother.

This is because of his homesickness in Turkey, where he has had a miserable few months at Galatasaray.

Gala report regarding Liverpool: “Although Grosskreutz would integrate under Klopp probably more easily than in Turkey, homesickness would certainly also in England be a problem.”

Klopp’s pulling power should not be underestimated though, especially as there are not yet any Bundesliga sides who have made moves.

There surely will be interest in the German international, but if he is not enamoured with the sporting project, Liverpool could try to convince him to join their football family.
