Gerard Deulofeu left Everton for Barcelona this summer.

There were a few raised eyebrows on Merseyside this summer when Barcelona invoked their buy back clause to re-sign Gerard Deulofeu.
Deulofeu was inconsistent during his stint at Everton, and was considered surplus to requirements in the second half of last season and loaned to AC Milan.
The former Everton attacker has had a mixed success at Barcelona so far, being selected to start four of eight La Liga games.

During his total six appearances he has one assist and is yet to score.
He told Catalan newspaper Sport: “I have to play as I know, but I am in the best team in the world and I know how difficult it is. There’s a lot of quality here.
“I know I am going to get minutes if I do what I have to do.”

Deulofeu played for 45 minutes for Barcelona against Olympiakos in midweek, and was playing well before he was taken off at half-time, due to teammate Gerard Pique being sent off.
He added: “It was a shame not to be able to continue.”
Deulofeu is keeping his self belief and has had a steady start, on which he can build from.
The departure of Neymar has opened up opportunities, along with Ousmane Dembele’s injury, and Deulofeu has to start to make an impact before the Frenchman returns.
