Tottenham Hotspur’s Anthony Georgiou has his first loan in English football.
Tottenham Hotspur talent Anthony Georgiou has expressed his excitement after clinching a loan move to Ipswich.
Georgiou’s loan was confirmed on Monday, with the versatile star on loan for the season.
Georgiou could go straight into Ipswich’s team tonight to face AFC Wimbledon in League One.
The Tottenham winger told Ipswich’s official website yesterday: “I’m very happy with how things have turned out and I’m really excited to be here.
“I’m hoping to be involved tomorrow night because I’m ready to go and can’t wait to get started.”
Georgiou starred on Tottenham’s pre-season tour in 2017, catching the eye against big name opposition.
He featured strongly again this past summer, filling in at left-back, showing he can defend and attack.
This will help his aim of getting game time and making a case for himself upon his eventual return to Tottenham.
Georgiou, 22, is a player Tottenham fans have a lot of high hopes for, and this season could be decisive for his future.
