Liverpool signed Georginio Wijnaldum from Newcastle United during the summer transfer window.

Georginio Wijnaldum has told Liverpool’s official website that he is loving life at Anfield, after joining from Newcastle United last summer.

Wijnaldum impressed enough for Newcastle in his first season in England to convince Jurgen Klopp that he would be a worthwhile purchase.

The Dutch midfielder has made a positive impression at Liverpool so far, and he is already playing a key role for the Reds.

Wijnaldum scored his first Liverpool goal during his new side’s 6-1 win over Watford yesterday.

And the 25-year-old said: “It’s a blessing for everyone in the dressing room that we can be a part of this team and this club. In situations and moments where it is going well, you enjoy football more than normal – and in this situation, we are enjoying football more than normal.

“You enjoy playing in a team like this because it’s going well and you’re playing with good players. We want to keep the ball and score goals, and we’re trying to defend well. They are happy moments here in Liverpool.”
