Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum wants international team-mate Quincy Promes to join him at Anfield.
Liverpool playmaker Georginio Wijnaldum has told The Mirror that he would like to see Spartak Moscow winger Quincy Promes join him at Anfield this month.
The Reds are continuing their push for the Premier League title, as Saturday’s 1-0 home win over Manchester City means they’ve won four games in a row, and remain six points behind league leaders Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp faces a big blow though, as star winger Sadio Mane will leave the club after today’s game with Sunderland in order to join up with the Senegal national team for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Liverpool currently don’t have a player to truly match Mane’s blistering pace on the right hand side of Klopp’s three-man attack, and many believe that the Reds will need to sign a winger in January to deal with Mane’s absence.
The Mirror reported last month that Liverpool have identified Spartak Moscow winger Quincy Promes as a potential target, with the Dutch international possessing the speed Liverpool need in Mane’s place.

Promes, 24, has hit 37 goals in 78 games for the Russian giants since a 2014 move from Twente, and his pace – combined with his goal threat – makes him a sensible target for the Reds, with an alleged £20million release clause in his contract.
Now, Liverpool playmaker Georginio Wijnaldum – who plays alongside Promes for the Netherlands national team – has offered his view on the situation, urging Liverpool to sign his international team-mate.
Wijnaldum has told The Mirror that he thinks Promes can help the Liverpool team, and thinks that the winger knows just how great Liverpool are – but doesn’t know if the reported interest in the player is true, as that’s for Klopp to decide.
“Of course I want him to come to Liverpool because I know he is a good player and also a good person who can help the team,” said Wijnaldum. “I think he knows how great Liverpool is – I knew it before I came here. I don’t know if everything is true about what they say as I don’t speak with him about that. It is something for the manager and the scouts, not for me. I just read it in the papers or on the internet,” he added.
