Tottenham Hotspur have allowed winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou to join Besiktas.
Tottenham Hotspur’s incoming business was finalised two weeks ago, but they have been busy in terms of outgoings this week.
Youngsters Anthony Georgiou, George Marsh and Jack Roles have all gone out on loan this week, joining Ipswich Town, Leyton Orient and Cambridge United respectively.
Another outgoing was confirmed today, with winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou leaving the club to join Turkish side Besiktas.
Nkoudou, 24, was a top target for Spurs in the summer of 2016, and after a lengthy transfer saga, Mauricio Pochettino finally got his man late in the window.
However, the winger – who earns £35,000-a-week according to Spotrac – has barely featured for Spurs, only ever making 10 Premier League appearances for the club, and he’s spent time out on loan recently.
Burnley took him in 2018, and Monaco earlier this year, with Nkoudou’s career severely stalling after showing promise in France with Nantes and Marseille.
Now, Besiktas have rescued the Frenchman from the Spurs sidelines, and he has taken to Twitter to send a heartfelt message to fans, suggesting that his story with Tottenham hasn’t gone to plan.
He’s admitted it’s now time for him to go, but feels he learned a lot during his time in North London, and wished Spurs all the best for this season and beyond.
