The 22-year-old is on the comeback trail for Tottenham Hotspur and could feature in the League Cup.
Earlier this week, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino told Football London that he might give Georges-Kevin N’Koudou a chance to impress on Tuesday.
Tottenham face Barnsley in a third-round League Cup clash and it could be a perfect stage for the 22-year-old to pick up where he left off after an impressive pre-season campaign.
The France Under-21 international, a £9.4 million signing from Marseille 13 months ago, struggled in his first season in North London but a promising summer under Pochettino gave rise to suggestions that the young winger could kick on this season.
Unfortunately for him, a foot injury curtailed his improvement and he has been sidelined ever since, though Pochettino suggested to Football London that he could be involved when the Championship side visit Wembley early next week.
If he does then it could be the perfect opportunity for N’Koudou to continue his improvement and show Tottenham fans that he can still be an asset for Spurs.
At the moment, he is far more of a miss than a hit, but a successful match against Barnsley would do his confidence the world of good and provide the platform to earn Premier League minutes.
It’s not quite make or break, given it’ll be his first game back if he does play, but Pochettino would feel a whole lot better about his investment if posts a good performance.
