The Sheffield Wednesday teen scored a double for the England under-18s this week.
England’s under-18s picked up an impressive win this week, defeating Poland 2-0 at the Lamex Stadium in Stevenage.
It was an excellent and composed performance from England but the goals on the night came courtesy of Sheffield Wednesday’s bright talent George Hirst.

The 17-year-old continues to have Owls fans excited about the future and his brace will have helped that hype.
He himself was clearly very pleased to bag two goals for his nation. He took to Twitter to send this message yesterday:
Hirst has scored a brace for England before. He netted two goals in a 2-2 draw with Germany under-17s back in February in a performance that earned him national recognition.
The Sheffield Wednesday talent is the son of former England international David Hirst. The Yorkshireman was with Wednesday from 1986 until 1997. He scored over 100 goals in his Sheffield Wednesday career in nearly 300 appearances for the club so George certainly has big boots to fill.
Owls boss Carlos Carvalhal has tipped Hirst for the Sheffield Wednesday first-team in the future. He told the Sheffield Star recently:
“George is a player that we are working with but he needs time like other players.
“He is someone who will be knocking on the door in maybe one or two years.”
Sheffield Wednesday fans will hope to see him scoring braces for the club in the years to come.
