The young Rangers defender has opened up about his experience working under Steven Gerrard.

Edmundson was one of Rangers’ top targets in the early stages of the transfer window, with the Ibrox club eventually landing their man in late June.
Since then he’s been a big part of the club’s pre-season plans and has even started two competitive games already in UEFA Europa League qualifying action.
He’s well placed to make significant progress in his debut campaign at the club.
The 21-year-old is also relishing the opportunity to be coached by Gerrard and the rest of his backroom staff.
As quoted by The Evening Times, the prospect said: “At first you can be a bit star struck because they are the players that you were watching when you were a kid.
“But I feel that I got past that stage quickly and the gaffer is the gaffer. I just want to learn from him and play for him.
“He is class and he and all his staff are really good with me and really helpful. Anything I want to improve on, any questions that I have, the door is always open and they are always there for you.”
Despite an initial bright start, Edmundson still has a bit of an adjustment to make to get used to life in the Scottish Premiership.

The player has no experience above English League One level and impressing for Oldham is a whole different game to doing the same at Ibrox. The expectation and pressure are things he will have to deal with over time.
He also has the task of convincing everyone he can displace either Connor Goldson, Filip Helander or Nikola Katic in his manager’s strongest starting elevens.
Still, being surrounded by better players in Glasgow and working under coaches with immense experience like Gerrard and assistant Gary McAllister should bring his game to new levels.
Right now he’s happy, settled and looking forward to the challenges ahead.
