Glasgow Rangers brought Edmundson to Ibrox for a reported £650,000 – and he’s already being compared to Harry Maguire.

A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the Ibrox side’s 2-0 win over Progres Niederkorn in the first leg of their Europa League qualifying second round, and Gers new-boy George Edmundson’s performance saw plenty of praise by the Bears.
Rangers put in a strong display against the team which, two years ago, consigned the famous club to one of its most humbling moments in their history, as Joe Aribo curled home the opener for Steven Gerrard’s side, while Sheyi Ojo struck after the break for a decent lead.
Edmundson, a Rangers summer signing from Oldham Athletic, was handed a surprise start by Gerrard ahead of Nikola Katic and Filip Helander, and he justified his inclusion as he rarely put a foot wrong all night against the Luxembourg outfit, his distribution and reading of the game very much top notch.
Here is what some of the Bears said on social media about the 21-year-old defender’s display at Ibrox:
Rangers signed Edmundson on 21 June for an undisclosed fee reported by the Daily Record as being £650,000, penning a four-year contract at Ibrox to become what was then Gerrard’s sixth Light Blues signing of the summer transfer window.
