Glasgow Rangers fan Oli McBurnie suggested that his teammate is an even bigger fan of the Ibrox side.

George Byers has joked that Oli McBurnie is not wrong after the striker named his teammate as the biggest Rangers man he knows on Twitter.

It is no secret that the Swansea pair are both Gers fans. McBurnie regularly posts about Steven Gerrard’s side, and Byers told the Daily Record back in February that he would jump at the chance to join Rangers in the future.

You would be forgiven for thinking that McBurnie may be the biggest Rangers fan within a Swansea squad that also includes former Gers winger Barrie McKay.

But the striker has suggested that his teammate may be an even stronger supporter of the Scottish Premiership heavyweights as he responded to a post on social media asking for followers to name the biggest Rangers man they knew.

And in response, Byers suggested that he would happily take that label…

Rangers have had some success targeting players who are supporters of the club in recent years. The likes of Jamie Murphy, Ryan Jack and Scott Arfield have all been successful signings for the team that they supported as boys.

McBurnie’s form this season probably takes the striker out of Rangers’ price range for the time-being, while Byers plays in a position where the Gers are very well-stocked right now. But, while a move may not be on the cards anytime soon, you surely cannot rule out the idea of both men playing for the Light Blues at some stage of their careers.
