Newcastle United fans have expressed their worry as Watford are seemingly close to appointing Roy Hodgson as their new manager.
After sacking Claudio Ranieri on Monday, Sky Sports now report that ex-England boss, Hodgson, is set to replace the Italian in the Vicarage Road dugout.
This would be significant news for someone like Newcastle because Watford are their relegation rivals.
On Friday night, the Hornets were outclassed 3-0 by Norwich City, whilst Newcastle recorded a valuable three points at Leeds to turn the heat up in the relegation dogfight.
All in all, it resulted in Dean Smith’s side sitting outside of the top three, even though they have played a few extra games than Eddie Howe’s side and managerless, Watford.
Nonetheless, if Hodgson does indeed replace Ranieri, then Newcastle fans are worried that he would get them organised at the back.
The 74-year-old would be the oldest manager in England’s top-flight and he has all the experience in the world to get Watford out of their current troubles.
If he does get them moving in the right direction, then it makes Newcastle’s life that bit harder in trying to avoid the drop.
Especially given that Norwich have managed to claw their way back to safety and bottom-of-the-table, Burnley, have four games in hand on some teams.
Either way, with the likes of Burnley, Newcastle, Watford and Norwich all definitely in a relegation battle.
It will see, with Hodgson’s appointment, four British managers going at it in trying to keep their in England’s top-flight.
