Speaking on Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel, Michael Dawson has been speaking about some of his former Tottenham teammates, including Gareth Bale.
As ever, there are ongoing rumours that Bale could be on his way back to Tottenham this summer once his Real Madrid contract expires.
Whether or not Bale returns to Spurs a third time, he’s already cemented himself as a Tottenham legend, and according to Dawson, the Welshman is the best player he’s ever played alongside.
What’s been said?
Dawson waxed-lyrical about Bale.
“The best for me, he’s the best I’ve ever played with. I’ve played with some world-class players, I can’t name them all, I’ve been that lucky. He won games on his own, it’s like playing on the park in Sunday League when you were the best player, scoring goals, running past players – he was doing that in the Premier League, winning games on his own. I was very lucky to play with him, a world-class player, a superstar. He could do something out of nothing when the game rests on fine margins he’d have a bit of genius, that’s what Gaz was,” Dawson said.

Still a star
Say what you will about the last few years of Bale’s career, but the winger still has so much to offer a team like Tottenham.
His loan spell last season wasn’t as successful as it could have been, but despite playing limited minutes under Jose Mourinho, he still managed to hit double figures in terms of goals, and he was a constant threat whenever he turned it on.
His performances for Wales as of late have shown that he still possesses that element of genius that Dawson is talking about, and if Spurs have the chance to bring him back again, they should be taking.
