Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott rounded off his loan with Blackburn Rovers in style on Saturday afternoon.

The 18-year-old attacker has enjoyed a wonderful season-long loan in the Championship ahead of his return to Liverpool this summer.

He scored seven goals and set up another 11 in all competitions as Rovers finished 15th in the second tier.

But he saved one of the best for last on Saturday by executing a Messi-esque dink over the goalkeeper in a 5-2 end-of-season win over Birmingham City at Ewood Park.

Elliott, who cost Liverpool £4.3 million in the end, has now likely played his last game for the Lancashire club.

And here’s how some Rovers fans reacted on Twitter:

The big question now is can he make the grade at Liverpool and stay in Jurgen Klopp’s side next season?

The player himself said this week that was his plan and with that confidence, combined with that talent, you really wouldn’t back against him.

After all, he’s a similar age to what Trent Alexander-Arnold was when he first broke into Liverpool’s senior first XI and he remains a vital part of Klopp’s team now.

Whether Elliott can make the same leap remains to be seen.
