England’s 2026 World Cup campaign came to an end on Wednesday when they clashed with Argentina.

Thomas Tuchel’s side went 1-0 up but decided to sit back for the final 20 minutes of the game, which allowed Lionel Messi’s side to come back and win 2-1.

The tournament ultimately ended in disappointment, but viral England fan Oliver Henry has still shown his appreciation for the journey he has been on this summer.

England fan thanks American people for his World Cup journey

Henry only planned to travel to the United States of America to watch one England group game.

But after going viral on social media, he has stayed in the US and shared his experiences online, including meeting Donald Trump.

Now, after getting enough money to watch Wednesday’s semi-final, Henry has taken to social media to praise ‘the generosity of the American people’.

In the video, he said: “I am at a World Cup semi-final between England and Argentina in America, all thanks to the generosity of the American people.

“And this would not be possible one bit without all of you donating to the GoFundMe, supporting me by watching, liking and following.”

In the caption of the post itself, he stated: “This means the world to me, thank you to everyone who has followed the journey, anyone who has donated to the GoFundMe. I am at a World Cup semi-final in Atlanta to watch England vs Argentina in the World Cup. This is truly incredible and means everything to me.”

England’s World Cup is technically not over, as they are now set to play a third-place game against France on Saturday.

But with the match essentially pointless, it remains to be seen whether their fans, including Henry, will remain in the US for the weekend or travel home.
