Some Arsenal fans on social media have been going crazy over William Saliba’s performance against Nimes.
The centre-back put in a dominant display for Nice in Ligue 1, and as you can imagine, this got a lot of Arsenal fans talking.
If you didn’t watch the match, his stat line tells you all you need to know about how well he played. Four clearances, three blocks, five interceptions and one tackle were just a few standout numbers in what was an excellent showing.
It’s easy to forget that Saliba is only 19 when you see him playing like this as this was a mature showing beyond his years.
Gunners supporters were quick to lavish praise upon him on social media, and some even went as far as to call for him to get a chance in the first-team.
Whether or not Saliba does make his senior Arsenal debut in the near future remains to be seen, but if this performance was anything to go off, he’ll certainly add a lot to the Gunners’ backline when his time comes.
