Man City cruised their way to a 5-0 win against Norwich City in their home opener of the 2021/22 Premier League season.
Jack Grealish scored his first-ever goal for the Manchester giants as Aymeric Laporte, Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez sealed a huge result for City.
It was the perfect response after last week’s 1-0 loss away to Tottenham. And Man City looked more like the dominant force in English football this weekend against newly-promoted Norwich.
It was a game that the hosts always looked like winning right from the off-set. But City put the game to bed well before the full-time whistle, with Pep Guardiola’s side 4-0 up after 71 minutes.
And one player who shone on the day was Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese international ran on every blade of grass as the midfielder kept the game ticking over with his work ethic and creative passing.
However, speaking in a press conference via Sports Illustrated, Guardiola revealed that he is open to selling Silva, with the former Monaco star also keen to depart the Etihad.
The arrival of Grealish means that first-team minutes could be hard to come by once City’s squad is back to full fitness, even when you factor in League Cup and UEFA Champions League appearances.
Yet despite talks of an exit, Man City fans on social media were buzzing with Silva’s performance against Norwich.
