Newcastle signed Kenedy in January last year, and the Brazilian was brilliant for them over the second half of the campaign.
The Chelsea youngster was one of the main reasons why Newcastle comfortably avoided relegation last term, as his performances made the Magpies a much greater threat.
Newcastle re-signed Kenedy on loan this season in the summer, but his impact has been minimal.
And it could be that Benitez needs to repeat the trick of bringing in loan signings in January again.
If the Portuguese man did arrive on Tyneside his pace and direct running would make Newcastle a much bigger threat.
And the signing of Martins could help Newcastle avoid the drop this term, just like Kenedy did last season.
