Celtic pulled off a massive victory over rivals Rangers on Wednesday night.

Ange Postecoglou’s outfit hammered Rangers 3-0 at Parkhead to move top of the Scottish Premiership standings.

A ruthless first-half showing from Celtic was enough to send the Light Blues back across Glasgow with wounded pride and one point behind their Old Firm enemies.

Nobody looked more elated by the victory than the Hoops manager after the game.

And Ally McCoist has revealed that the Australian coach spent time after the game embracing the Parkhead faithful, shaking their hands.

However, McCoist, a Rangers icon, has mocked the post-match celebrations.

He told BT Sport 2 [broadcast 6.30pm on February 4]: “I got a complaint from one of my Celtic supporting mates in the village because big Ange never shook his hand after the game.

“They were shaking hands with the crowd, gee whiz lads. Calm down.”

To be fair, the celebration was justified.

A Rangers victory would’ve seen Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s troops move five points clear of Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race.

And giving an outfit like the Gers that sort of advantage could’ve been curtains.

Remember, Rangers are the defending champions and they could’ve easily motored clear of the pack with that sort of advantage.

However, Celtic have reminded their Glasgow rivals that they’re entirely up for a title battle and it makes for fascinating viewing from here on in.
