Claudio Ranieri’s men let a two goal lead slip after a brace from Shinji Okazaki, although Gary Cahill’s late header in first half stoppage time gave Chelsea a lifeline before half time.
A superb Cesar Azpilicueta volley levelled the game and despite an onslaught of Chelsea pressure the game went into extra-time. A double from out of favour Cesc Fabregas sealed the tie to put Antonio Conte’s men into the hat for the fourth round.
It gave manager Claudio Ranieri an opportunity to play some of the squads more fringe players such as Ben Chilwell, Marcin Wasilewski, Shinji Okazaki and Demarai Gray.

The win for Chelsea was an important one given the way they lost on Friday night against Liverpool.
The defeat for The Foxes at least will give them the opportunity to focus solely on the Premier League and Champions League until New Year. If you gave Leicester City fans that scenario a year ago, they would’ve taken it, and don’t seem too despondent now.
