Kasey Palmer – Huddersfield Town

An impressive season in the Chelsea development sides last season saw Kasey Palmer was rewarded for his performances by being called up for the first team for their away game at Swansea City in April.

The 2015/16 season was successful with the 19 year-old scoring 16 goals in 30 appearances with a fair few coming from long distance.

The on loan Chelsea man scored in the semi-final and final of the UEFA Youth League. A move to the Championship will be a test although he seemed to take the step up in his stride by scoring the winner on his debut in Huddersfield’s season opener against Brentford.

Jack Payne – Huddersfield Town

Another player who Huddersfield Town have been able to secure is Jack Payne, who signed from League 1 side Southend United in the summer.

Payne gradually worked his way into Phil Brown’s plans at Roots Hall and last season featured 32 times scoring nine goals in all competitions. The midfielder has the ability to play across midfield but similar to Palmer does flourish in the number ten role.

Manager David Wagner described Payne as being ‘one of the most interesting young British midfielders in the country’ so watch out for the 21 year-old to flourish in his debut season in the Championship.

Tammy Abraham – Bristol City

Similar to Palmer, Tammy Abraham is a product with Chelsea’s ever growing successful youth set up, the next stage for the striker was to make the step up to senior football with Bristol City.

Abraham has won two UEFA Youth League titles as well as two Youth Cup titles is a striker who has the ability to be a target man with his tall frame but has the pace to run in behind an stretch the game. The 18 year-old was formidable during his youth team days at Chelsea scoring 72 goals in 101 games .

He will certainly give City a goal threat and he got off to a flying start to life in the Championship scoring the equaliser against Wigan Athletic as well as scoring the opener in their League Cup tie to Wycombe Wanderers three days after.

Rolando Aarons – Newcastle United

Aarons broke onto the scene two seasons ago under Alan Pardew, however injury has halted the winger’s progress, so with The Magpies in the Championship it’s certainly a chance for him to establish himself as a starter.

Matt Grimes – Leeds United

The 21 year-old has linked up with former manager Gary Monk at Leeds United where he will hope for a successful spell, after struggling for regular football at Swansea. Grimes is a ball playing midfielder who likes to link up the play from midfield to attack and will be hoping to be the supplier for the forward players.

Grimes secured a loan deal in the second half of last season at Blackburn Rovers but the England under-21 international will be hoping to make a bigger statement in his spell at Elland Road this time round.
