HITC Sport understands troubled club could sell prized asset.
Troubled non-league side Ilkeston are set to part company with one of their top prospects Luis Rose, HITC Sport understands.
The 18-year-old has come through the academy of the highly-rated non-league set-up who have been suspended from league action in recent weeks due to unpaid debts – although that should not be a long term issue as they have just pocketed a substantial sum from the Sheffield United’s sale of Che Adams to Birmingham City.
Adams is one of Ilkeston’s recent graduates who has gone on to shine in league football and Rose looks set to follow him.
HITC Sport understands up to a dozen clubs from the Championship down to League Two have been taking a keen interest in forward Rose, who can also play on the wing.
HITC Sport can reveal that Oxford United are currently leading the chase to Rose, and they hope to seal a deal in the coming days.
