French minnows Le Havre are set to beat a host of European rivals to the signature to Egypt’s latest wonder kid Taher Mohamed, HITC Sport understands.

Taher is currently starring for El Mokawloon Arab Contractors but he is ready to follow in the footsteps of the likes of a number of fellow countrymen in making the move to Europe – most recently being Ramadan Sobhi, who joined Stoke City earlier this summer.

Monaco, Sporting Lisbon and Anderlecht are amongst the clubs to show an interest in the 18-year-old forward, who is an Under-23 international – whilst Tottenham, Arsenal and West Ham are also believed to have scouted him.

However, Le Havre have lined up a deal and are locked in talks with Arab Contractors and hope to seal a deal in the coming days.

His English-based agent, Craig Honeyman of HSH Sports – who has previously moved the likes of Hossam Ghaly, Amr Zaki, Ahmed Elmohamady, Geddo and Ahmed Fathi to Europe, believes Taher has a huge future ahead of him.

“After establishing himself with El Mokawloon, who are a great club, Taher is ready to continue his development with a move to Europe,” he told HITC Sport.

“Whilst like all young players he has a lot to learn he is technically very good and he is a real threat in the final third, he can play any of the attacking roles behind a main striker, he has good pace and is a genuine goal threat.”
