HITC Sport understands Dons keen on St Johnstone left back

Aberdeen are looking to land St Johnstone’s Brian Easton, but face competition from English clubs, HITC Sport understands.

The 28-year-old left-back has been one of the stand-out performers for the Saints this season, and he has just six-months left on his current deal.

Now Easton’s contract situation has seen a number of clubs take a keen interest in recent weeks, especially south of the border.

But HITC Sports understands that Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is a big fan of Easton and has now made enquiries about landing him.

However, McInnes knows that they may have to work quickly to try and secure his signature.

HITC Sport understands that a number of English clubs are looking at him, with a view to landing him on a Bosman free transfer in the summer.

Easton, a Scottish B international, joined St Johnstone in 2013 – arriving from Burnley, who had snapped him up from Hamilton Academical – where he began his career.
