‘Gave me goosebumps’: Rangers fans ‘love’ what Tavernier shouted during Standard Liege win

Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to discuss what they could hear James Tavernier shouting against Standard Liege.

A clip reposted by The Athletic’s Rangers correspondent Jordan Campbell shows the ex-Newcastle man shouting ‘go, go, go’ before Scott Arfield’s winner.

The Bears captain was shouting the instruction while Standard Liege were in possession, and was keen for his teammates to push higher up the field and press the Belgian side.

After his shout, Glen Kamara then presses Standard Liege’s Noë Dussenne, forcing the defender to hurry when clearing the ball which then hands possession back to Steven Gerrard’s men.

A nice bit of build-up play then sees Kamara slot Ryan Kent through, where the ex-Liverpool winger then assists Arfield with a lovely cutback.

Tavernier really is having some season, and we’ve only just entered December.

The Bradford-born right-back has a remarkable 25 goal involvements in 24 games this season, in the form of 15 goals and ten assists.

He has skippered Rangers to a remarkable run of 24 competitive games without defeat, an incredible streak which also includes 20 of those matches ending in victory as WhoScored shows.
