Jon Toral is reportedly set to join Rangers today.
Former Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett has told The Herald that he spoke to Jon Toral just days ago in a bid to delay his decision about a move to Rangers.
Rangers may have landed Bournemouth youngster Emerson Hyndman on loan until the end of the season to boost their midfield options, but another deal seems to be on the verge of completion.

The Daily Mail report that Arsenal playmaker Jon Toral has arrived in Glasgow to put the finishing touches on a move to Rangers, with a medical scheduled for later today.
Toral, 21, joined Arsenal from Barcelona alongside Hector Bellerin back in 2011, and whilst Bellerin has become a first-team star at the Emirates Stadium, Toral hasn’t quite enjoyed the same success.

The Spanish midfielder has yet to even make his first-team debut for Arsenal, but has enjoyed great loan spells with Brentford and Birmingham City, whilst his most recent loan stint with Granada has been cancelled to enable him to join Rangers.
Ahead of Toral’s move to Ibrox, his former Birmingham boss Gary Rowett has spoken to The Herald about the playmaker and a recent conversation they had.
Toral hit eight goals and three assists under Rowett during his time at Birmingham last season, and Rowett has now revealed that he tried to convince Toral to delay a decision on his future, as he would’ve wanted to sign him once he got back into work.
Rowett added that Toral was ‘quite adamant’ about his move to Rangers, as he feels it’s a good opportunity – and Arsenal feel the same way, having loaned Gedion Zelalem to the Gers as well last season.
“I actually spoke to Jon a couple of days ago and he told me there was a good chance he might be joining Rangers,” said Rowett. “And I said to him, “can’t you hang on a couple of weeks until I get another job?” but he was quite adamant that he saw this as a good opportunity. And I think he feels Arsenal think it is a good opportunity, too,” he added.
