Nottingham Forest are currently without a permanent manager.

Gary Rowett has told SkySports he is open to managing at Nottingham Forest in the future.

Speaking to SkySportsNews HQ’s Morning View at 11am (9/2), Rowett said he would do so only if there are changes from the top down.

He said: “When you look at a club, you say is there a structure there and the tools to do your job properly as a mannger?

“From the outside it looks like there has been quite a lot of turbulence there, a lot of inconsistency with how they’ve done things with different managers, and I think that’d be a difficult job to get right, right now, although I think the caretaker manager Gary Brazil is doing a fantastic job.

“If that structure was to change, I think myself and any manager out there would see Nottingham Forest as an unbelievable club to be a manager of.'”

The Nottingham Post reported that Rowett was lined up as the next Forest boss by the US consortium led by John Jay Moores, but the takeover fell through in early January.

His comments are a further blow to embattled Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi, who has been the subject of fan protests over the past few months.

Rowett is out of work after being harshly fired by Birmingham City three months ago, who have struggled since.
