Gary Player has always enjoyed sharing his insights on golf, and during the 2022 PNC Championship, he took a moment to give one young fan some advice in person.
With nine major titles and a long career in the sport, Player has no shortage of knowledge to share.
Throughout his career, he has often been seen passing on tips and guidance to others, drawing from his own experience.
Still, it is not often you see someone of Player’s stature stop during an event to offer personal advice.
But at the 2022 PNC Championship, he made an exception, going out of his way to help a young fan who was eager for some guidance.
Gary Player shares personal advice with young fan

Even in his late 80s, Player was still playing, and before his appearance at the PNC in 2022, he walked from the range to the tee box.
On his way over, a young fan grabbed his attention by mentioning he could already break 90. That was all it took for the South African legend to get involved and start sharing some advice.
Player responded quickly: “There are so many good players that stand over the ball, they’re thinking so much. They get paralysis by analysis.”
He did not stop there, adding (via Golf Digest): “Once your arm is here position, turn your core, back and through. Hard as you can. Nothing else.”
Then he added a bit of putting advice: “Pick out one dimple on the golf ball. Watch the blade hit that dimple, and only then, look up. You’ll remember that?”
Gary Player is the perfect golf tipster
Player, now 90, has truly seen it all in golf. But despite everything he has achieved, his enthusiasm for the sport has not faded one bit. It is always evident when he speaks.
If you are a young player looking to learn, listening to the South African is never a bad idea. Even if some of his tips do not suit your game personally, there is no denying the value behind them.
Even if not every tip hits home, most do come from experience and knowledge that few others possess. And as this moment showed, he is always happy to share it whenever there is an opportunity.
